Integrated Functional Education (IFE)

Project Started in 1975. AIOU’s work for the grass root level, literacy and for the vulnerable groups started with the Institute of Education through its IFE project.

Community Education: Basic Education Functional Educational Program (BFEP)

BFEP projects started in 1982 at Kharian. The main objective of this project was to develop a workable strategy for the education of rural masses.

Integrated Functional Literacy Project (IFLP)

IFL program was an endeavor to facilitate the female learners in education and uplifting their social status. Specific purpose was making arrangements for the Basic education of about 600 women in a period of 3 years.

Islamabad Literacy Project (ILP)

The ILP started in 1992 in Four Union Councils of the Federal area. The project sites were Bara Kouh, Phul Garan, Sohan and Sihala.

Integrated Functional Education Project (IFLP-ODA)

The IFLP was funded by ODA/British Council in 1993 for establishing 50 centers in five selected area of Punjab, NWFP, Baluchistan and Sindh.

Neo-Literates Reading Project

UNESCO funded the Neo-Literate project for developing post literacy reading material for women. The material was developed by writers from all over the country in workshop held at AIOU.

Education in Prisons

BUESP has conducted its BFEP courses in all prisons of the Punjab including: Kotlakhpat, Lahore. Multan, Sahiwal, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur & Adiala Rawalpindi.

Education through Newspaper

BUESP introduced unique and door step education method through newspaper in 1989.

Lady Health Worker Project at Baluchistan

BUESP started Lady Health worker program with collaboration of Paiman & Ministry of Health in Baluchistan.

Short Term Educational Programmes (STEPs)

The Bureau for University Extension and Special Programmes (Projects) (BUESP) offers Short Term Educational Programmes (STEPs), a novel study plan for those who want to improve their capabilities and skills in the given disciplines at any time, at any place, at their convenience and at their pace with minimum matric qualification.

Girl Power Program/ Project at Vehari & Chakwal

Girl Power Program Middle Level Education project was funded by Plan International, Pakistan in Vehari and Chakwal.  BEUSP successfully completed and certified 8000 Students in Vehari & Chakwal.

Basic & Middle Education Open SchoolingProgram at Kharian

BUESP started the basic functional educational program for rural masses (FEPRA)
at Kharian in 1986. Objective of the program was to develop a workable strategy for the education of rural masses. After three years of Project period it became a regular program of BUESP.
